Starting over... and happy for it!
I am French-Brazilian, PhD in Anthropology and, as an anthropologist, I worked as a Teacher for ten years. I taught French language and civilization in South Korea and in Brazil, and Portuguese and Brazilian civilization in France.
Passionate about cultures and languages, I have decided, ten years ago, to work exclusively as Translator, reconnecting with my first job ever. Indeed, earlier, in my professional life, I worked as Translator for Belas Artes Cinematográfica, translating screenplays written by the French Director Jean-Gabriel Albicocco, from French to Portuguese. Subsequently, I worked three years for L'Oréal, an international luxury cosmetic brand, as Merchandising Assistant, where I was responsible for the translation of the Marketing material such as presentations, brochures and press releases from the Headquarter located in Paris to the Brazilian Market,
In 2009, I put together all the knowledge, skills and experience I have gathered during my professional and personal life and enhanced efforts to learn translation and computer techniques to keep me updated to the current translations codes and tools.
Since then, I have translated five books, reviewed two, translated a website to an international cosmetic brand, settled a long term relationship with translation agencies, worked for direct clients, integrated the translators' team of Babbel and assume the Vocabulary Curator at Gear Translations.
I realize now that this is the job that fits me better. I couldn’t be happier!
